Nirathanka is a Non-Governmental Organisation with a registered office in Bengaluru. Nirathanka has been founded by a young Professional Social Worker with the objective of extending the services to the weaker section of the society. Today, the organisation is extended its scope of services in the areas of education, health care, youth skill development, food security, and livelihood training. ABOUT PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT AT WORKPLACE (POSH)

Even though the concept of sexual harassment is as old as the history of mankind, its implication at the work place has received attention in recent times. In fact until the   verdict in Vishaka Vs. State of Rajasthan (1997) case by the Supreme Court of India in 1997, there were no official guidelines to deal with the subject.  Thereafter the central government has enacted Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013, under which the employer is duty bound to protect the women at workplace. This Act aims to protect women against sexual harassment at workplace by preventive measures like training, prohibitive measures like legal restriction, punitive measures like disciplinary action by employer or criminal action by police and rehabilitative measures like transfer and monetary compensation. Hence there is a need for managers and executives to learn the legal aspects, case laws and detailed procedure to protect the women at workplace.  ​

Previously she was a member secretary for preventing sexual harassment at workplace at Kidwai cancer hospital. She served as external advisor in Internal Complaint Committee [ICC] to have zero tolerance about sexual harassment at workplace at various organization like Volvo Group India Private Ltd, Arvind Mills, Toyota Boshoku Ltd, Raymonds Exports, Apollo Hospital & others. Conducted training programmes for employees and committee members on principles of POSH, Vishaka Guidelines for many organizations.

She also served as BOS member at Bangalore university, CMR university and St Joseph’s college for 3 years, she also served as family counselor in family court to facilitate couples for reconciliation of family cases before granting divorce by the family court. Recognized guide at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Successfully guided 5 researcher scholars who have been awarded Ph.D. at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
